Join us on May 2 for our excursion to Niagara-on-the-Lake to see Gypsy!

Participants in Hamilton-Gibson’s 16th annual one day theater trip will get to see this lively musical in the Shaw Festival’s flagship 856-seat Festival Theatre.

The trip to the Shaw Festival is part of Hamilton-Gibson’s ongoing educational and cultural outreach mission. It’s not too soon to reserve your seat on the bus to see this stunning professional theatrical production. Transportation for this outing will be provided by Benedict’s Bus Service, departing from the terminal in Whitneyville, with additional pickups in Mansfield, and Painted Post (see itinerary) and returning around 9:30pm.

Spending a Saturday afternoon with Hamilton-Gibson in the “loveliest town in Ontario” truly is an event that inspires you to “think spring.” Situated at the mouth of the Niagara River, the town is known for its floral parks and walkways, period homes, and fine shops and restaurants.

By taking advantage of group rates, we are able to keep the cost reasonably low (less than half the cost of a single ticket alone.) The cost of this year’s trip is the same as last year at $130 per person. Free hearing devices are available. Meals are not included. All participants must carry valid passports.

The Shaw Festival day trip is open to adults and to children accompanied by adults—everyone with valid passports.   Space is limited to 40 persons. Full payment guarantees your reservation.

Our 21st annual theatre excursion!  Four great shows over three days.

THE MISER  Siblings Eleanor and Charles know that their widowed father, a paranoid old skinflint named Harper, won’t approve of their romantic choices – and what that’ll mean for their inheritances. And their plights only get worse when Harper announces startling marital plans of his own. Can nothing be done, for love or money? Or is there some way to have both? A classic Moliere comedy directed by Antoni Cimolino, Stratford’s Artistic Director.

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING  When it comes to trading witty insults, Beatrice and Benedick are foes worthy of each other’s steel – and their friends think they’d make a great romantic match, too. Meanwhile, as a delightful campaign of trickery is mounted to awaken this merrily warring duo to their mutual attraction, another couple’s future happiness is threatened by deception of a very different kind.

SPAMALOT  King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table are off to find the Holy Quail – no, sorry, Grail. Along the way, they encounter the nonsensical Knights of Ni, a fearsome rip-your-throat-out rabbit and a surprising number of showgirls. You’ll quest long and far before you find anything so sublimely silly, so irresistibly toe-tappingly tuneful, or so much fun.

CHICAGO  Aspiring chorus girl Roxie Hart and vaudeville star Velma Kelly, two murderesses as sexy as they are cynical, compete for the skills of shady lawyer Billy Flynn and the media celebrity he has promised them both. With its killer score and knock-’em-dead dance numbers, this deliciously lurid tale
of murder, greed, adultery – and all that jazz – packs some serious heat.
