      Hamilton-Gibson’s SHAW FESTIVAL DAY TRIP offers a theatrical experience suitable for all ages. Here’s the basic information:

      • The Play: Me and My Girl, by
      • The Date: Saturday, May 13, 2017
      • Departure: 6:30 a.m. Benedict’s Terminal in Whitneyville (other boarding sites en route)
      • The Destination: Shaw’s Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
      • The Cost: $135 per person (adults and children accompanied by adults)
      • PASSPORTS REQUIRED! (See note below)

      PASSPORTS/PASSPORT CARDS.  U.S. citizens entering the U.S. from Canada must have a U.S. PASSPORT (Adult $110; Minor $80) or PASSPORT CARD ($30; $15). (The Passport Card is designed for folks who don’t intend travel by air or beyond Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean.) If you’re considering this trip and don’t have a current passport, be sure you apply for one soon! Tioga County residents start at the Prothonotary’s office at the Court House in Wellsboro (724-9281). Estimated turn-around time: 4-6 weeks.

      This delightful comic romp from the thirties follows the fortunes of Bill Snibson, a proud Cockney who is amazed to learn that he’s actually the fourteenth Earl of Hareford. But if he wants to claim his title, it looks as if he will have to shed his old life – and love. With well-loved classic songs including “The Lambeth Walk” and “Leaning on a Lamp Post,” Me and My Girl was brilliantly updated by Stephen Fry in 1986 for a run that won a hatful of Olivier, Drama Desk, and Tony Awards.
